I've been an award-winning travel writer and editor for more than 20 years – including many as a senior editor at ForbesLife – and I've written about more than 900 destinations, adventure trips, operators, and hotels in 109 countries (and counting). I know the difference between what’s merely expensive and what deserves its high price tag. I’m discerning but not jaded, and I appreciate the hard work that goes into crafting experiences as well as crafting luxury goods. (I’ve written about those, too.)

I’ve shared that wisdom with readers of Forbes, Departures, Virtuoso, Falstaff, Robb Report, Condé Nast Traveler (and Traveller), Afar, National Geographic Traveler, Yahoo Travel, Outside, Brides, Travel Curator, Well + Good, and other print and online publications. In the name of lifestyle journalism, I’ve gotten a tattoo in Bora Bora, been bitten by a massage therapist, and flown airplanes over three continents.

For the past nine years, I've called Lisbon home, and have been using it as a base to explore Europe and North Africa, but I travel frequently all over the world. I have strong interests in independent hotels, gastronomy, and the soulful side of travel, but my favorite part of this job is telling the stories behind the magic.
